In Beyond Blame and Shame, you learned the basics of BPD-like patterning, which operates behind the scenes in nearly every difficult real-world interaction, situation, and relationship.
Beyond Blame and Shame helped you realize that you - and anyone who grew up with borderline parent(s) - share similar experiences. This realization was a great relief, knowing you were NOT the crazy one.
So, Beyond Blame and Shame offered the framework to talk about the patterning so pervasive in dysfunctional families and gave you a reference experience for operating outside the BPD trance.
Yet, you may still be yearning for unmet needs lingering from childhood, like lack of holding, lack of soothing, lack of mirroring, and lack of control.
It’s important to understand that parents can only offer what they received as children. Parents operating in the BPD trance were inherently limited in what they could provide to their children. They didn’t receive some of the resources and experiences that are useful outside the BPD trance, which is the root of many unmet needs.
That’s why we are excited to offer Change Patterns for BPD Survivors, where we will introduce change patterns that provide ways for you or the clients you work with to get what the parents couldn’t give. These change patterns offer a way of creating and giving those experiences to clients, even if they didn’t get them in childhood.
In this two-day course, Change Patterns for BPD Survivors, you will learn specific change patterns that can be used when working with a clients with BPD patterning in their life. By participating in the class, you will get first-hand experience with these patterns from both the client and practitioner points of view.
Carla Camou is the trainer for this class, and she is looking forward to sharing with you the change patterns she's developed and used with her private clients that make a big difference when dealing with BPD patterning.
Who Is This For?
Students who have completed both Beyond Blame and Shame AND Core Competencies/ITC are eligible to attend this course.
What You Will Learn
We will build on the observations of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) types from Beyond Blame and Shame and the Transformational NLP toolkit and introduce change patterns that can provide crucial experiences that individuals may have missed out on during childhood, especially those who grew up immersed in the BPD trance.
In this class, you will learn specific, effective change patterns that you can immediately apply when working with clients who have unmet needs from growing up in a family under the BPD trance.
As usual, we will practice the change patterns in small breakout groups. Participants will gain firsthand experience by engaging in these patterns from both the client and practitioner perspectives. This hands-on approach ensures that each student is actively involved, practicing implementing the change patterns and personally experiencing the benefits of these changes.
